D C EQUIPMENT MUSEUM Drainage Systems One of the most important damage control measures onboard U.S. Navy ships has always been to control flooding. Two methods had to be considered. The first method was to restrict progressive flooding caused by underwater damage, set flooding boundaries, isolate the space and conduct any patching and plugging repairs. The second method was to remove the water, which is the function of drainage systems. |
