USS TRIPPE (FF 1075) and USS PLATTE (AO 186), Collision, 19 April 1989 |
| On April 19, 1989, the Knox class frigate, USS Trippe (FF 1075) collided with the fleet oiler USS Platte (AO 186) while conducting exercises 500 miles off the coast of Jacksonville, FL. There was one personnel injury and minor damage to the USS Platte (AO 186) reported as a result of the collision. |
