USS SPRUANCE (DD 963), Grounding, 25 January 1989 |
On January 25, 1989, the USS Spruance (DD 963) ran aground while fighting heavy winds near Andros Island, Bahamas. The grounding resulted in $1.4 million in repairs to the ship. There were no personnel casualties or injuries reported. |
