USS SEATTLE (AOE 3), Collision, February 1982

In February 1982, the Sacramento class fast combat support ship, USS Seattle (AOE 3) was hit by a tugboat while getting underway from Norfolk, VA. The collision resulted in extensive damage to the equipment on the aft end of the ship. There were no personnel casualties or injuries reported.
