USS MONONGAHELA (AO 178), Explosion/Fire, 1 November 1989 |
| On November 1, 1989, the Cimarron class oiler, USS Monongahela (AO 178) experienced a fire in the engine room while operating off the coast of Spain. There were no casualties but nine injuries reported as a result of the fire. |
