USS KINKAID (DD 965), Collision, 11 November 1989 |
USS KINKAID On November 11, 1989, the Spruance class destroyer, USS Kinkaid (DD 965) collided with a Panamanian registered merchant ship while transiting the Strait of Malacca. The collision caused major fires to break out on both ships. The casualty resulted in the death of one sailor and injuries to 15 crewmembers. |
