USS INCHON (LPH 12) and USS CALOOSAHATCHEE (AO 98), Collision, 16 December 1975 On December 16, 1975, the Iwo Jima class amphibious assault ship, USS Inchon (LPH 12) collided with the fleet oiler USS Caloosahatchee (AO 98) while conducting underway replenishment operations in rough seas west of Italy. There were no personnel casualties or injuries reported.
