USS GURNARD (SSN 662), Grounding, 23 May 1989 |
| On May 23, 1989, the Sturgeon class submarine, USS Gurnard (SSN 662) ran aground off the coast of California while conducting routine underwater training missions. There were no personnel casualties or injuries reported. |
