USS FINBACK (SSN 670), Fire, 13 November 1989 |
On November 13, 1989, the Sturgeon class submarine, USS Finback (SSN 670) suffered a fire onboard that forced the submarine to cut short sea trials in the Atlantic Ocean and return to port in Norfolk, VA. There were no personnel casualties or injuries reported. USS FINBACK (SSN 670) and USS KITTIWAKE (ASR 13), Collision, 8 January 1974 On January 8, 1974, the Sturgeon class submarine, USS Finback (SSN 670) collided with the Chanticleer class submarine rescue ship USS Kittiwake (ASR 13) at the pier in Naval Station Norfolk, VA. There were no personnel casualties or injuries reported. |
