USS DETROIT (AOE 4), Grounding, 10 June 1981 On June 10, 1981, the Sacramento class fast combat support ship, USS Detroit (AOE 4) ran aground on a sandbar while preparing to enter port at Norfolk Naval Station. There were no personnel casualties or injuries reported. |
