USS CONSTELLATION (CV 64), Boiler Room Fire, 6 November 1961 On November 6, 1961, the Kitty Hawk class aircraft carrier, USS Constellation (CV 64) experienced a fire in a boiler room due to a broken oil pipe while conducting sea trials off the coast of New York. There were 4 personnel casualties and 9 injuries reported. |
