USS CONSTELLATION (CV 64), Explosion, 11 September 1964 On September 11, 1964, a rocket motor used to boost aircraft explodes onboard the Kitty Hawk class aircraft carrier USS Constellation (CV 64) while conducting operations in the South China Sea. There was one casualty and 3 injuries reported. |
