USS BLUEBACK (SS 581), Fire, 25 May 1989 |
| On May 25, 1989, the Barbel class submarine, USS Blueback (SS 581) experienced a fire onboard while conducting training exercises off the coast of southern California. The fire forced the submarine to surface. There were no personnel casualties or injuries reported. |
