OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS AND SAFETY PRECAUTIONS FOR FIXED CO₂ SYSTEMS

1. Before operating the CO₂ flooding installation be certain that all personnel have been removed from the space.
2. Close all openings leading to the space, the ventilation will be automatically secured.
3. Open the front of the release mechanism and break the glass.
4. Pull the cable out until the red paint shows.
5. Once the CO₂ system has been started it cannot be shut off.
6. Installed CO₂ system bottles shall be weighed each 6 months when shore base facilities are available.
7. Any cylinder found to contain less than 90 percent of charge shall be refilled.
8. Ventilate the space 15 minutes before entering.
